As a Service Representative, you will devote much of your day to building long term relationships with our customers, in person and by phone.  You will deepen the understanding of our customers' financial needs and provide suggestions.  While most of the job is performed in the branches, Service Representatives reach out into the community by placing outbound phone calls to existing clients, visiting businesses, conducting educational seminars, and being active in the community.

 

In a typical banking day, you will enjoy a high level of customer contact, and you'll draw upon your own product knowledge, cash handling experience, and service training. You will make a difference by assessing a client’s financial needs and delivering first-rate service to help them reach their goals. Every day will be different. You will spend some time on the teller line, at a sales and service desk, and promoting C&F Bank in the surrounding community.

Responsibilities

  • This is a full time opportunity.
  • Assess customer/client needs, providing solid advice/recommendations, and building customer relationships based on mutual trust to optimize sales opportunities with new and existing customers/clients.

  • Build solid relationships with teammates, business partners and specialists by fostering teamwork, partnership and collaboration.

  • Ability to apply strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to meet customer’s needs.

  • Demonstrate initiative, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to adapt to changing demands and requirements.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Branch Manager.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Long periods of standing or sitting
  • Ability to lift and carry cash drawers and coin bags/boxes
  • Long periods of typing and repetitive motion

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong influencing skills.

  • Pass personal banker pre-employment assessment.

  • Minimum of one year sales experience in a salary plus incentive environment with individual sales goals where you routinely met or exceeded defined goals and accountabilities.

  • Demonstrates leadership and assertiveness.

  • Experience in financial services and prior knowledge of financial services industry, products and solutions.
