Overview

Job Summary: 

This primary objective of this role is to acquire new consumer and small business relationships via active and organized prospecting, customer appointment-setting, and subsequent execution of the C&F Relationship Review (consumer and business)Additional objectives include deepening and retaining current customer relationship using the same strategies and in collaboration with all partners and teammates. 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                      

Manages the Brand (50%):   

  • Role models all aspects of the C&F Customer Experience, to include the C&F Service Experience, the C&F Relationship Review (consumer and business) and C&F Active Site Leadership; teaches and coaches other teammates to perform similarly. 
  • Uses C&F Customer Experience strategies, specifically the C&F Relationship Review, to retain and deepen current customer relationships. 
  • Ensures full knowledge of all digital banking services through personal utilization of these services in order to effectively communicate all features and benefits to both customers and prospects while also maintaining the ability answer questions regarding functionality. 
  • Educates customers and prospects on digital banking services options and enrolls as appropriate, role models same behaviors for the team. 
  • Acquires new customer relationships (business and consumer) via referrals, proactive small business prospecting, and community networking. 

 

Manages Risk (30%): 

  • Complies with all BSA/CIP requirements with all new account and existing customer interactions. 
  • Submits all customer documentation accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Resolves all outstanding file maintenance cases within specified guidelines. 
  • Takes ownership for leadership of other operational risk management tasks as delegated by Branch Manager. 
  • Adheres to the Bank’s information security policies and manages Bank information appropriately; protects customer information with high sense of accuracy and urgency. 

 

Teamwork and Influence (20%):  

  • Builds collaborative, results-oriented relationships with prioritized key internal partners: Business/Commercial Relationship Managers, Customer Service and other Operations staff, Credit Services, C&F Mortgage and C&F Wealth Management representatives, and Treasury Solutions. 
  • Owns responsibility for team product knowledge education. 
  • Educates/coaches Professional Tellers and Service Representatives in branch to achieve referral goals. 
  • Leads C&F Active Site Leadership when not with a customer to include engaging customers at the Drive Thru. 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience: HS diploma or GED is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred, preferably in finance, banking, or a related field; a combination of experience and education will be considered. 1-2 years branch banking experience and 2+ years of successful sales/customer relationship-building experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of relationship-driven business development is required. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, organizational, results orientation, time management, and communication skills, including business writing and public speaking, are requiredSmall business and consumer credit skills, including balance sheet/financial statement analysis preferredExcellent negotiating skills preferred. Demonstrated ability to be effective in networking and prospectingProven ability to deepen and enhance customer relationships; proven ability to acquire new customers to include prospecting, gaining meetings, interviewing, and closing. 

Travel 

Must be able to travel to all Bank locations, including subsidiaries. 

 

Physical demands:   

Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: view computer monitors, keyboarding, sitting, motion of fingers/hands/wrists, and standing/walking; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds. 

 

Work Environment: 

Work is performed in operational office and a retail branch environment.
