Overview

The C&F Bank internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates an opportunity to gain exposure to the inner workings of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Small Business Lending. During the summer students participate in our comprehensive program where they will receive training and develop their skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals at C&F Bank.

Responsibilities

Interns will be part of an program that includes:

 

Students will provide financial analysis support to Consumer, Business and Commercial Credit Analysts as well as Senior Underwriters. Key responsibilities will include analyzing financial statements and credit information and preparing and assisting in the formulation of credit presentations.

  • Shadowing, case studies, how to calculate DTI, LTV, credit reports, etc.
  • Learning Product Suite
  • Introduction to Credit Analysis and Credit Memos
  • Efficiencies of Consumer Lending
  • Global DSCR, even spreading financials
  • Learning Product Suite
  • Trainings on loan renewals, credit memos and business analysis
  • Investment real estate analysis and proforma analysis
  • CRE Analysis vs. C&I Analysis

Qualifications

  • Are studying in analytical disciplines related to Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or another related field.
  • Are a rising sophomore, junior or senior. Recent graduate or pursuing your graduate degree.
  • Are enrolled in, or have completed, accounting classes and have a thorough understanding of balance sheet and income statement categories and comprehension about how balance sheet and income statement values interact.
  • Are confident problem solvers with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate an understanding of their findings.
  • Are passionate and hardworking individuals with a desire to learn.
  • This position is located in Richmond, VA and Toano, VA, which is a 40-minute commute from Richmond. Travel is required.
  • This is a paid internship.
  • This is a 12-week program beginning May 20,2024 and ending August 9,2024.
