Overview

Job Summary:

As a Commercial Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of commercial real estate and commercial and industrial clients. You will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understand their financial needs, and offer appropriate banking solutions. Additionally, you will analyze credit risk, structure credit facilities, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Commercial Relationship Managers may also be designated as residential A&D and Builder Line Specialists based on experience and prior training.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                        

Business Development (80%)

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial real estate and commercial and industrial clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Understand clients' financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
  • Conduct thorough financial analyses and risk assessments to determine creditworthiness.
  • Structure credit facilities tailored to clients' needs and in accordance with bank policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and address client inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Achieve revenue and portfolio growth targets set by the bank.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with local C&F business partners to optimize support and focus on new business development.

 

Portfolio Management and Administrative duties (20%)

  • Prepare credit proposals and present to credit committees for approval.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify potential risks, and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting clients.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as credit analysts, underwriters, and legal teams, to ensure timely and accurate execution of transactions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree is preferred, preferably in finance, banking, or a related field; a combination of experience and education will be considered. 6-9 hours of accounting is required. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • One to two years of previous commercial banking experience preferred. A demonstrated understanding of the principles of lending and loan processing is required; experience with Microsoft Office preferred, specifically- Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
  • Proven calling and networking experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills are required. Solid/proven analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organization skills are required. Analysis of financial statements strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and lending principles.
  • Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels and in various settings. Meets people easily and is unafraid to ask for business. Must be an excellent listener; able to present ideas effectively one-on-one or with a large group. Read and understand a variety of reports, spreadsheets, and forms; effectively communicate information clearly through all media channels.

           

 

Physical demands:  

Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: view computer monitors, keyboarding, sitting, motion of fingers/hands/wrists, and standing/walking; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 20 pounds.

 

Work Environment: 

Work is performed in an operational office environment.
